Fri May 26 sasquatch and sketchy camping
We spend the morning at Josephine's momÂs house in Mukilteo, WA. It was sure nice to get off the road and enjoy some creature comforts such as sleeping in, taking a dip in the hot tub, and laughing over Jo's high school pictures.
We were late getting to the concert due to us not fully realizing how crazy people get on Memorial Day. But we did get to see a lot of bands that day, including NIN, which was a mix of a light show and a high school flash back. We had initially planned on finding a camp site after the show got out, but once we actually began searching, we realized the error of our ways. I hate Memorial Day weekend. Our last minute shelter options were a parking spot at the gorge for $40 (no water, over used porta-potties), a cement pad in the sketchy, mad max style townie camp for $30, or drive 3 hours back to Mukilteo. This set of options led me to attempt to pitch the tent at 2 AM by the river while Josephine shivers and holds the flashlight. The ranger very humanly waits until 9AM to wake us up and tell us we shouldn't be camping there.
Dave struggles with the tent.
