Wed May 24 Bigfoot, Drive-thru tree, & Starfish

Today we woke up in an empty room formally occupied by my friend Aviv. Even though she had moved away more than a week prior to our arrival, her roommates let us "camp" in her old room. The weather was misty and wet, which we both agreed was perfect for our search for Bigfoot. Stocking our car with a bevy of sandwich fixings we set out inland toward willow creek, which we heard was the location of the 'world famous' Bigfoot museum.

From there we took a large detour through the Redwood National Forrest, an Indian reservation, and then back to the 101 just in time to see the Trees of Mystery shut it's gates. Who wants to see mysterious trees anyways? We were much more interested in the giant statues of Paul and Babe, and in the not quite as mysterious, but still mandatory, attraction known as the drive-thru tree.

Leaving California, we managed to get one more stop in at Crescent City Oregon, where we visited exotic 'Ocean World' where we were treated to a private tour (with uniformed tour guide and everything!) throughout the wondrous world of Oregon sea life. The real draw for us was the music choreographed sea lion show (again with Jo and I being the only audience), and of course the chance to reach in and pet starfish and sharks.
